OLIVIA – one dress instead of a whole outfit

A knit dress in a broad rib, with a ribbed collar and raglan sleeves. The rib is what makes it: it stretches to your shape and lets go again, so you take your true size rather than sizing up. Raglan sleeves work on narrow and broader shoulders alike.

Warm enough to be the whole outfit on a cold day, light enough that it never feels like one. Three women's sizes, S to L.

Baby alpaca is not the fleece of a young animal – it is the finest grade of the clip, taken from the softer upper torso of an adult. The fiber is hollow, so it holds warmth without weight, and it carries no lanolin, which is why it does not itch. Here it is blended with extrafine merino and a little nylon, so the shape stays where you put it.

Short fiber, no long fluff – it does not shed over everything you wear underneath.

Every panel of this piece is knitted to shape on its own – fully-fashioned, never cut out of a length of knitted fabric. The panels are then hand-linked: a person feeds the open stitches onto the linking machine one loop at a time, so the seams stretch with the knit.

It is hand-finished – hand-steamed over a shaped pad and washed before it leaves the workshop, so it arrives at its true size and stays there. The yarn is spun in Italy.

I design every piece myself, and it is knitted in a small workshop here in Lithuania – a few at a time, never off a production line.

Every piece passes through my hands before it is packed – I check each one myself before it goes out.

It arrives in a plain brown box with the care card inside and nothing else – no filler paper, no leaflets. That is a choice, not a saving – I would rather use less than print something that is made to be thrown away.

CARE:
– hand wash;
– maximum washing temperature 30 °C;
– gently squeeze the excess water out of the washed garment, do not wring it;
– do not hang it wet on a hanger, as it will lose its shape;
– do not tumble dry;
– iron on the lowest setting with steam, or simply steam it.
