A children's poncho with tassels – for a boy or a girl alike

A poncho for a small child, knitted by hand in light blue, with the whole edge crocheted by hand in a deeper denim blue. The crocheted border runs along the neck, down the front opening and around the entire hem, and the same darker yarn makes the cord that ties at the neck, finished with two tassels.

It is open down the front and open at the sides, so it goes on over whatever the child is already wearing and comes off again without a fight – no sleeves to find, nothing pulled over the head. Laid flat it is square; on, the corners fall to a point at the front and the back. One size, and it is the same poncho for a boy or a girl.

Half of the yarn is lamb wool – the fine, soft wool of a first shearing, without the coarseness of ordinary sheep wool – blended with polyacrylic, which keeps it light on a small child and easy to look after.

I knitted this poncho myself, by hand, on needles – not on a machine. I design every piece here in Lithuania.

The yarn is spun in Italy, and it is washed before it leaves me, so it arrives at its true size and stays there.

Every piece passes through my hands before it is packed – I check each one myself before it goes out.

It arrives in a plain brown box with the care card inside and nothing else – no filler paper, no leaflets. That is a choice, not a saving – I would rather use less than print something that is made to be thrown away.

Color – light blue.

50% lamb wool, 50% polyacrylic.
One size.

Measurements (garment not stretched)*:
Length from the neck to the point – 40 cm / 15.75".

*as with all knitted garments, the measurements may vary by a few centimeters.

CARE:
– hand wash;
– maximum washing temperature 30 °C;
– gently squeeze the excess water out of the washed garment, do not wring it;
– do not hang it wet on a hanger, as it will lose its shape;
– do not tumble dry;
– iron on the lowest setting with steam, or simply steam it.
