Hand knitted kids alpaca scarf and beanie set - peach

A scarf and beanie set for a child, knitted in 100% alpaca in peach. Both pieces are knitted double - two layers of knit all the way through - and that is why a set this small is so warm. The surface is worked in a deep waffle texture.

The beanie is seamed straight across the top, which leaves two soft points at the corners - they stand up like little ears when it is on. That seam does not give much, so the 44 cm is a real 44 cm. Children of the same age can have very different heads: please put a tape measure round yours before you order rather than going by age.

Alpaca is the reason this one does not itch. The fibre carries no lanolin at all and it is smooth rather than scaled, so it does not prickle the way sheep wool can on a child who pulls everything off. It is also hollow, so it holds warmth without weight.

I knitted this set myself, by hand, on needles - not on a machine. I design every piece here in Lithuania.

The yarn is spun in Italy, and it is washed before it leaves me, so it arrives at its true size and stays there.

Every piece passes through my hands before it is packed - I check each one myself before it goes out.

It arrives in a plain brown box with the care card inside and nothing else - no filler paper, no leaflets. That is a choice, not a saving - I would rather use less than print something that is made to be thrown away.

CARE:
- Hand wash;
- Maximum washing temperature 30 C;
- When washed, gently squeeze the excess water out of the garment;
- Do not hang the wet garment on a hanger, as it will/may lose it‛s original shape;
- Do not tumble dry;
- Cool iron with steam or other wet method.
